Cebik is Gone
I got back to my hotel tonight only to learn the sad news about the passing of LB Cebik, W4RNL.
It was at the very first Atlanticon conference in 1999 that I first met W4RNL. I had visited his Web site prior to that but listening to his talk on the HoHOPLs was entertaining, educational and convinced me that LB was indeed an antenna expert.
I was looking forward to seeing him again a few years later at FDIM but W4RNL didn’t travel much after the passing of his wife Jean.
Ham radio has lost another legend.

Shortly before his death I had some memorable email exchanges with LB about his IL-ZX antenna. It was with great sadness that I learned of his death and feels like having lost a life long friend although I knew him only for half a year.
Rest in peace LB.
