The ARRL Contest Update has a new editor. Paul, N1SFE has taken the reins of the publication from Brian, N9ADG after a long and successful run. N1SFE is currently the Contest Program Manager at ARRL, a position he has held since June of 2019.
In his first edition as editor of the letter Paul concluded with:
In the next few weeks and months, I plan on introducing some new material to the Contest Update, as well as keeping the contesting community informed of upcoming contests, results publication, and noteworthy news. I’d like to feature some of the many contesting clubs as a regular feature, focusing on how the innovative ways in which they draw members, and share their contesting experience with new and old contesters alike. I’ll be sending out emails to club secretaries very soon soliciting their input and ideas.
Contest clubs should take note and help out by preparing the source material requested so those special features will appear soon and frequently in upcoming editions.
If you don’t already subscribe to the letter (ARRL members may subscribe at no cost by editing their Member Data Page), you should. While its primary focus is radio contesting I’ve found endless hints and kinks in the letter that would be useful to almost any radio operator. And since it only comes around every two weeks, it’s not intrusive to your Inbox.
Good luck with the new endeavor Paul, we’re all pulling for you!
