The remarkably long daily streak of making at least one QRP CW contact each day came to an end at 11,654 days when popular Western Pennsylvania radioman John Shannon, K3WWP was hospitalized for several months this summer. John co-founded the North American QRP CW Club more than 20 years ago.

Hurricanes: Typically at this time of year, there would have been three hurricanes and eight tropical storms forming out to sea and churning towards the US coast. But so far there have just been five storms - Arthur, Bertha, Cristobal, Dolly and Edouard - and no hurricanes at all.

To initiate one you may find CQ callers scanning the Reverse Beacon Network, you may invite a friend by phone, or just call CQ the old-fashioned way. What counts is your presence. With your active participation, you are showing your love of CW and your support for the efforts of ICWC and its member clubs to keep CW alive. By using the Top 9 KHZ of each CW band, we will have a better chance to preserve them by showing activity there.
