Waking up to 65F and rain in the Heartland this morning. It looks to be a steady, all-day, soaking rainfall so I won’t be doing much outside today. It’s difficult to complain about this delightful respite from the typical late summer weather. That reminds me, I haven’t yet moved my weather station from the old house to the new. I need to get around to that soon as I enjoy having access to weather data collected on my own.

Looking around hamlandia this morning:

The SKCC Weekend Sprint took place over the weekend. Results from it are already being reported. I never care about the scores but I enjoy reading the soapbox.

Please be advised that Marconi Radio International (MRI) will be on the air this week with test transmissions on 14 and 15 August 2023, as follows: 17.00-18.30 UTC. The frequency is 6180 kHz (USB mode).

I still read A Nuttycellist’s Monologue authored by Shin JA1NUT even though he’s no longer active on radio. He has continued to share things of interest that often includes lessons on the brevity of life that I find comforting.

INDEXA is supporting the upcoming TX7L DXpedition to Marquesas coming up on November 4-19, 2023. They say, “This 9 man French team has solid experience doing DXpeditions. We expect them to be extremely active on the bands during their stay”.

Hope you have a great day! I’m going back to refill the coffee mug and watch it rain for a little while…
