My wife and I were married forty-five years ago today. It certainly doesn’t seem like our wedding was that long ago, but the passing of time can be deceptive and the years slip by quickly often without notice until one day you realize, that was forty-five years ago. Over that span we have raised four children, greeted six grandchildren, and watched as almost all our older relatives were buried. We will celebrate simply tonight with dinner at one of our favorite places. Tomorrow, we begin the next forty-five years together. I guess I’m an optimist?
