The polar vortex arrived. It was -1 degree when I woke this morning. The good news is it showed up without snow storms or wind, which is great for the power lines. It’s just brutally cold and will remain that way through Wednesday. Better days ahead with temperatures more normal for this time of year and I need that as the antennas are in need of maintenance as soon as possible.

Hopefully, before the ARRL DX CW contest the third full weekend in February.

The only thing I did outside today was remove the American flag from my front porch. I took it to a place that disposes worn or damaged flags. They offered to sell me a replacement. I told the guy I’ll consider it, in four years…
