That's a Hard 'No' Dawg
April 6, 2025
Having worked a long career, raised a family, and generally lived a full life, I have discovered a number of things that I don’t want any more. These are all technology related and while I have enjoyed my fair share of personal tech over the decades, now I think it’s making me sick. While completely deleting computers from my life is highly unlikely, it remains a noble goal.
By the way, this list is in no way complete, and in no particular order:
- …I don’t want another “smart” device
- …I don’t want to install anything new
- …I don’t want to subscribe
- …I don’t want to be tracked
- …I don’t want to take a survey
- …I don’t want to smash the like button
- …I don’t want to connect via LinkedIn
- …I don’t want any free service
- …I don’t want anything faster
- …I don’t want to upgrade to premium
- …I don’t want to allow notifications
- …I don’t want to accept cookies
- …I don’t want to send anonymous usage data
- …I don’t want to ask ChatGPT
- …I don’t want to see what cute thing you made with AI
