Final Results DX Marathon
I got my final results back from the DX Marathon for 2024. Mine are not really competitive results, but I enjoy the chase anyway. My final score, 120 entities confirmed among 32 zones for a total score of 152. Only slightly better than last year so there is plenty of work to be done.
Fortunately, I’m running ahead of that already this year and it’s only April.
One small nit to pick, I was dinged for a couple bits of weirdness that I can’t really explain except perhaps for some sort of odd munging by the software I used to create my entries. One was: T32TT: Not in our copy of the DX log.
Wasn’t in my log either, but T32TTT was in my log and should have been my submission as it was a legitimate operation. I had worked the T32TT operation in a previous year and all I can assume is that the processing software got to “T32TT…” and just sent it instead of the actual input. I don’t know. I used an online tool, Ham2K Marathon Tools to assemble my ADIF for direct submission at year-end.
The other FUBAR was an invalid callsign submission that wasn’t in my log either so I’m at a complete loss about that one. Very minor stuff and having one more entity properly recorded wouldn’t put me over the top for anything so no big deal.
Still, I’ll prepare my submission for 2025 differently.
