On Blogging

I’ve been using Jekyll to convert text files into static HTML for this site for the last eight or nine years. I like the simplicity of text and have no particular interest in more advanced features when blogging. But Jekyll is an open-source project that hasn’t seen an update in more than a year and I suspect it may be an abandoned project and that leads me to believe sooner or later I will move on from it.

I’m somewhat familiar with Wordpress having used it ages ago, but I migrated from it due to frequent database errors that often ended in lost content.

Time will tell where we go from here. Maybe even back to podcasting. Some of you may recall when I used to produce a weekly program, Long Delayed Echoes, where I took a deep dive into the history of radio. I enjoyed doing that and based on the feedback, many listeners did too. Here’s the way it used to be a long, long time ago.

Who knows, maybe it will be this way again one day?
