CW, Wire, and Margaritas
I’ve been working to re-publish some of the old stories that previously appeared here and still have a long way to go. It’s part of this new organization kick I’ve been on lately. I want to be able to easily pull all the fiction and publish it in e-book format some day. That effort has included some light editing and in a few cases, consolidation of multi-part episodes into a single post. All this in preparation for a soft landing when the site is eventually shut down.
Don’t look surprised; few of us live forever.
The most notable edit is The Last QSO, a consolidation of ten episodes that was re-titled at my editor’s insistence. It’s now a single post — and a long one, clocking in at about 38 minutes.
A similar downsizing and reorganization of all my radio hardware is taking place at the same time. The goal is to liquidate all my gear, save for a small CW transceiver, a wire antenna, and a pitcher of margaritas on the back patio. Hopefully right up to the moment I assume room temperature. A lifetime of radio, coupled with a little good fortune has resulted in a garage and attic filled with crates of electronic stuff that my kids shouldn’t be forced to decide whether to keep, sell, or haul it all to the dump.
I accumulated the stuff — it’s my responsibility to liquidate it.
