The results of the latest QRP to the Field (QRPTTF) event have been posted along with news from activity curator Paul Harden, NA5N the long-running event has come to an end:

QRPTTF HAS RUN ITS COURSE. Nearly every weekend POTA to state QSO Parties and main-line contests are now all welcoming to QRPers. No excuses for not making QSOs, even with other QRPers. This will be the last QRP TO THE FIELD. I thank everyone who has participated over the years and the fun we had operating from ghost towns and state lines to light houses.

For many years these specialized outdoor events did their job spurring additional interest and QRP activity on the bands. But Paul isn’t wrong, the advent of the POTA program and it’s wide popularity has served to demystify the experience of taking low-powered, lightweight gear to the field. I wouldn’t be surprised to see most other similar (outdoor) QRP operating events end this year as well.
